SAFETY4SEA is pleased to announce that GasLog LNG Services Ltd has received the 2020 GREEN4SEA Tanker Operator Award, sponsored by Wärtsilä, at a prestigious award ceremony which successfully concluded on March 3rd at Yacht Club of Greece in Athens, the evening ahead of the 2020 GREEN4SEA Athens Forum.
GASLOG LNG Services LTD has been nominated for embracing environmentally sound and energy efficient practices, putting sustainability at the core of its activities. The company is committed to conduct its activities, both ashore and at sea, in an environmentally responsible manner. Other short-listed nominees for this category were: Anglo Eastern, Dorian LPG, Maersk Tankers and Wallem.
Presenting the award Mr. Yiannis Christopoulos, Managing Director, Wärtsilä said “Shipping is the most sustainable way of transporting goods; however we should always strive to improve energy efficiency through its operations and minimize environmental footprint. GREEN4SEA Awards are held annually within the scope of awarding industry’s outstanding practices for green shipping excellence, technology, initiative, clean shipping practices, green ports and personalities that are leading the path toward a more sustainable future. Other winners of the 2020 GREEN4SEA Awards are: Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd for the Dry Bulk Operator Award, Dynagas Ltd for the Technology Award, World LPG Association (WLPGA) for the Initiative Award, Lloyd’s Register FOBAS for the Clean Shipping Award, Dr. John Kokarakis, Bureau Veritas for the Personality Award and Mr. Andreas Chrysostomou, Tototheo Maritime for the Leadership Award.
