DNV GL signed a memorandum of understanding with Kongsberg aiming to boosting digitalization in the shipping industry and improve customer benefit and ease. As there’s an increasing number of providers offering digital solutions, ship owners could gain many benefits from data infrastructure standardization and access to business ecosystems connecting all relevant digital solutions or services.
Specifically, Kongsberg and DNV GL joined forces to provide the shipping industry with digital solutions and options, to optimize performance and allow customers conduct more secure and sustainable operations.
Kongsberg and DNV GL have developed digital solutions through Kognifai and Veracity.

On the one hand, Kognifai is particularly made to focus on digitalization in the shipping industry; On the other hand, DNV GL’s Veracity, is a platform providing digital assurance and class solutions.
Transparency and collaboration on the data value chain is a big challenge. The fear of losing competitive advantage through sharing of insights offered by data keeps the data in silos.
