COSCO SHIPPING announced that China Shipping & Sinopec Suppliers conducted China’s first ever domestic ammonia bunkering operation.
According to the brief statement, China Shipping & Sinopec Suppliers refueled the marine ammonia-powered tugboat “Yuantuo 1” with a power output of 5500HP.
This makes it the first time marine ammonia fuel has ever been bunkered in China.
The bunkering truck-to-ship operation was conducted on 24 December 2024.
