Arkas is investing $240 million to expand its fleet with four next-generation, eco-designed container vessels, increasing its total number of vessels to 53 and boosting the TEU capacity to over 100,000.
According to the company, the he vessels, each capable of carrying 4,300 TEU, will be built by Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard (GWS) in China. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in February, April, June, and August 2028 and will be operated by Arkas Line.
They will support Arkas’ sustainability goals by reducing carbon emissions through a fuel performance measurement system and increased capacity, the company claims.
With the addition of these vessels, Arkas Line, which currently operates weekly services in the Mediterranean, Black Sea, West, North Africa, and North Europe, will also enhance its network by introducing a new service to the East Coast of America.
