More than 50 countries participated to over 60 events during LISW 2013
London International Shipping Week has finally come to a close, after a week of debates, seminars, meetings and events held across London. Key industry figures and government representatives from more than 50 countries flocked to over 60 events held the length and breadth of the capital and beyond.
Speaking after the event, Sean Moloney, Director of the LISW organiser Shipping Innovation, said: “The inaugural LISW exceeded everyone’s expectations by producing an incredibly well-supported event that brought the global shipping industry firmly together. Networking was of the highest standard and everyone wants it to be repeated, which it will be.
London International Shipping Week offered the opportunity for London to underline its key role in maritime services, and to continue to promote its position as the world’s main maritime capital, attracting all sectors of the international maritime community from regulators to charterers, ship owners, ship managers, lawyers, ship brokers, bankers, insurers, ship suppliers, marine surveyors, bunker suppliers as well as ports and shipping service providers to London during the week.
