Over 200 people were rescued and one is still missing after a passenger ferry sustained a massive fire while underway in Indonesia’s Molucca Sea, on Saturday.
The passenger ferry ‘KM Karya Indah’ was en route from Ternate, North Maluku, to Sanana, on the remote island of Sulabes, when a fire broke out early on Saturday morning.
Dramatic footage from Indonesia’s search and rescue forces showed the vessel engulfed in smoke and fire as passengers in life vests jumped from the deck to lifeboats.
