The bulk carrier ‘Persenk’ collided with the cargo ship ‘Ahmet Can’ on Saturday, May 18, while sailing in the Marmara Sea. The incident took place between the Marmara island and the Port ofTekirdag, European Turkey.
The vessels were both heading to the Dardanelles. According to local sources, both vessels suffered damages, after the collision.
Persenk returned to Tekirdağ, Turkey, right after the collision and anchored in the open; Whereas, Ahmet Can dropped its anchor off Tekirdağ.
Persenk is a 2010 Malta-flagged vessel owned by Persenk Maritime Ltd care of manager Navigation Maritime Bulgare of Varna, Bulgaria. It is entered with West of England Club on behalf of Persenk Maritime Ltd.
Additionally, Ahmet Can, built in 2006, is a Panama-flagged cargo vessel, under the ownership of Kivanc Shipping Inc care of manager Safir Gemi Tasimacilik Sanayi ve Ticaret Ltd Sti of Istanbul, Turkey. It is entered with Hanseatic.
