On October 31, a fire broke out in the engine room of the Turkish cargo vessel FG Sevil in the Marmara Sea, while it was en route from Yalova, Turkey, to Bulgaria.
The fire led to the deaths of two seafarers who were among the 17 crew members and eight shipyard workers onboard. Coastal safety teams quickly responded with an evacuation boat, as well as the KURTARMA-7 and ŞARK tugboats, to control the blaze and evacuate personnel.
