As Torm is preparing for IMO 2020 compliance, it informed that it has adopted a balanced approach, and it has committed to scrubber installations on 34 vessels. This number amounts to about half of Torm’s fleet.
As of 31 March 2019, Torm’s fleet consists of 69 owned vessels, three chartered vessels and nine vessels on order, including two LR1s and seven MRs. Now, the company has committed to install an additional 13 scrubbers, bringing the total to 34 scrubbers.

In addition, all 13 new scrubber orders and 28 out of Torm’s total scrubbers will be delivered from Torm’s scrubber JV ME Production China.
Moreover, 32 scrubbers are expected to be installed in 2019 and two in the first quarter of 2020, including the delivery of one newbuilding.
As the company explained, most of the 34 scrubber installation will be delivered ahead of the 2020 deadline, supported but its scrubber Joint Venture.
