A replica of the Titanic will set sail in 2022, following the route of the original ship as planned in 1912. Namely, the ship will travel from Southampton to New York, carrying 2,400 passengers and 900 crew, while it aims to have the same lay out and interiors of the first ship.
Blue Star Line is planning this project for several years and is now able to proceed with the voyage, which is expected to last two weeks and will start on 2022.
The ship will follow the original course, but will also circumnavigate the globe.
Chairman of Blue Star Line, Clive Palmer started the project in 2012, but the works stopped in 2015, because of a financial difference. However, these problems have now been solved and and the works are continuing.
The design work and wave testing have been successfully completed, but there is not a specific date for the build.
