Marine support services company V.Group will unveil a new app for seafarers and an upgraded training centre in Manila as progress is ongoing on Project Embark. The app will be providing seafarer data to improve crewing performance and assist in planning.

V.Group collaborated with the management consultancy Accenture to improve its approach to crew management. Named Embark, the project seeks to develop an in-house shared services model which streamlines key processes for V.Group’s seafarers, customers, and colleagues. 

The Fleet Cell of the Future is used as a test bed for innovations, where the technical management team can measure operational, financial, and customer KPIs for the Fleet Cell and measure the effectiveness of new approaches and technology. It enables a shift away from single user focus to full team problem-solving.

With the BWM Convention getting closer to ratification, ship owners will be starting to think about how they meet the new requirements for ballast water treatment. V.Group created an explanatory infographic which illustrates what is being included in the ballast water
