The Korean Register informs of all the limited information concerning ships entering and leaving Taiwan in regard to the new coronavirus that,  up till now, has costed the lives of 565 people, while confirmed cases exceed 28,000 across China. What is more, except from China, coronavirus cases have been reported in other countries in Asia, such as Malaysia and Japan, in Australia, Germany, France, the US and Canada among others.

Taiwan fined four ships NT$ 100,000 each, which is around USD$ 3,300, for violating the new emissions control area (ECA) regulations, according to local media citing a note from the Ministry of Transportation and Communications.

Ørsted announced that the second phase of Formosa began generating its first power. Formosa 1 will consist of 20 Siemens Gamesa 6MW offshore wind turbines, from which 10 have already been installed, whereas six of them generated power. 

A crew member went overboard from the Hong Kong-flagged bulk carrier 'KSL Singapore' while the ship was 8.26 nautical miles Southwest of Orchid Island, Taiwan, according to data provided by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG). The man was last seen onboard on 24 August.

The Taiwanese Coast Guard investigated the incident concerning a Taiwanese cargo vessel that collided with a Chinese navy ship off Kinmen. Fu Shih-hour, the cargo ship’s captain, stated to Bloomberg that the Chinese vessel tried to persuade him sail to the mainland port of Xiamen.

According to the Taiwanese Coast Guard, a Taiwanese cargo vessel collided with a Chinese navy ship off Kinmen on Wednesday, causing minor damage to both ships. The Taiwanese vessel was damaged, but there were no injuries reported.

Royal Boskalis has created a joint venture with Hwa chi, to undertake the transport and installation of submarine foundations for CIP’s Chang Fang and Xidao projects. In addition, Boskalis aims to expand in Taiwan's emerging wind industry in the next five to 10 years. The construction is expected to be completed by the end of 2023, with the wind farms have a combined capacity of 600 megawatts.

Siemens Gamesa announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Formosa Plastics Corporation for offshore wind in Taiwan, today, July 5. The company noted that this follows a series of earlier agreements.
