SAFETY4SEA's annual survey, the so called ’'Shipping CSR500 Survey’’ highlights once again the many benefits that CSR practices offer to the industry's organizations which realize their responsibility as part of the society and their contribution to the environmental sustainability in order to move forward.

The SHI initiative aims to discover seafarers’ thoughts and opinions on important welfare issues such as shore leave, wages, food, training, social interaction and family contact.

After a stakeholder meeting took place along the Belize Port Authority and wider government earlier in January, priority areas will be surveyed, capturing sonar data of Belize's main ports and approaches. Reach Subsea in cooperation with MMT Sweden, have renewed the frame agreement with Statoil. The new frame agreement will cover both survey and light construction for the next three years. According to the agreement, Statoil can award contracts for survey and light construction projects in the North Sea.

The Danish Shipowners' 'Shipowners' Panel' released a survey, according to which the majority of shipping companies have been exposed to cyber attacks in recent years and are fighting cybercrime. 69% of the shipping companies have faced cyber threats in the past year, according to the responses to the panel.

The clock is ticking for the 0.5%sulphur cap and although this measure is about to become effective globally in two years from now, the route to compliance remains foggy. SAFETY4SEA seeks to collect essential data reflecting trends with respect to industry’s readiness to comply with the 0.5% sulphur cap.
