the ship will be refused access for a period of three months On7 June2011 the M/V "Tuzla"with IMO number 7920364 has been banned after multiple detentions.The ship was detained in Koper port in Slovenia on 1 June 2011. This was the third detention in the Paris MoU region within the last 36 months. The ship flies the flag of Belize.Therefore under the provisions of the section 4 of the Paris MoU the ship will be refused further access to any port and anchorage in the Paris MoU region.As this is the first refusal of access order for this ship, the ship will be refused access for a period of three months.Source: Paris MOU

After PSC inspection The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced that nine foreign flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during April 2011 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection.Latest monthly figures show that there were six new detentions of foreign flagged ships in UK ports during April 2011 and three vessels remained under detention from previous months. The overall rate of detentions compared with inspections carried out over the last twelve months was 3.03% this is slightly up from Marchs twelve month rate.Out of the detained vessels five were registered with flag states listed on the Paris MOU white list, two were registered with a flag state on the grey list none were registered with flag states on the black list and two were unregistered.SHIPS DETAINED IN APRIL 20111. The ship polluted the sea with harmful substances The Georgian Border Police detained the 2,900-dwt "Naruksovo vessel flying under the Russian flag at the port of Poti.According to the information, the Russian cargo ship was detained while polluting the sea with "harmful substances."Administrative proceedings were initiated in respect of the Russian Master, Captain Petr Ushakov,under the fifth part of the 58th article of the administrative code of Georgia.A Poti court ordered him to pay damages worth 5,000 lari ($ 1 = 1.79 lari).The vessel,which is operated byMarship-Moscow,remained in the Poti Port yesterday.Source: Safety4Sea

2 new detentions in UK during December 2010 The Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) announced today that 7 foreign flagged ships were under detention in UK ports during December 2010 after failing Port State Control (PSC) inspection.Latest monthly figures show that there were 2 new detentions of foreign flagged ships in UK ports during December 2010 and 5 vessels under detention from previous months.
