Adani reaches agreement to develop new container terminal in Yangon

Adani Yangon International Terminal was awarded approval from Myanmar in order to develop, operate and maintain the Ahlon International Port Terminal (2) in Ahlon, Yangon, on April 26. The approval comes as trade volumes are expected to grow in this area in the coming years. AIPT (2) will be built along 50 acres of land that the Myanmar Economic Corporation, the operator of AIPT (1), owns.

Mundra Port to increase its cargo capacity

Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd handled a total of 200 mt in the year to March 2019. Now it aims to invest as much as Rs 57,594 crore, aiming to expand the capacity of India’s biggest commercial port at Mundra, Gujarat. APSEZ has applied for environment and coastal regulation zone (CRZ) clearances to increase the capacity of Mundra by 385 million tons.

Agreement reached to redevelop State Pier

Seabury Maritime announced that it acted as the transaction advisors to the Connecticut Port Authority in a public and private investment to redevelop State Pier into a modern port facility, expanding its economic potential while capturing new opportunities. The $93 million investment aims to transform State Pier into a modern facility, while also creating a platform for heavy lift cargo, like offshore wind components, to use Connecticut's ports.

Partners install final caisson for Tuas Terminal Phase 1

MPA Singapore announced that Mr Khaw Boon Wan, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Minister for Transport, participated in the installation of the 221st and final caisson for Tuas Terminal Phase 1 reclamation on April 23. When the project is done, PSA Corporation will begin terminal development of deep-water berths that are able to handle about 20 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) per annum.

Tanjung Bruas Port expands services to handle containerships

Tanjung Bruas Port Sdn Bhd (TBP), a member of MMC Group, announced that it now offers container ships services at its terminal, Tanjung Bruas Port. On Thursday, April 18, TBP accommodated its first container vessel West Scent and undertook its first ever project in handling containerized shipment. The West Scent will depart for China’s Humen port after completing its cargo operations.
