Announced in June 14, port of Baku collaborated with the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) with the aim of promoting greener ports and connectivity in the Caspian sea region. The project will be implemented in partnership with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, UNECE and leading private sector experts.

The Port of New York and New Jersey poises to surpass the Port of Long Beach as nation’s second busiest port due to completion of Bayonne Bridge project and the completion of the ExpressRail Port Jersey facility, which is the last piece of the Port of New York and New Jersey’s intermodal rail network spanning facilities in Elizabeth, Newark and Staten Island. 

The UK’s Port of Southampton and Florida’s PortMiami signed a sister port agreement to enable them to collaborate and share best practices to strengthen the cruise market in both cities. The partnership provides responsibilities for cruise industry best practice in their respective areas.

The Maritime Anti-Corruption Network (MACN) announced its collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (MOFA) on developing and launching the world's first Global Port Integrity Index and scale up collective action activities in West Africa.

The Director General of Ports and Maritime of Sistan and Baluchestan, Behrouz Aghaee, reported that 53% of the cargo that enter the Chabahar port is being loaded from ports of origin, reflecting the positive effects of the port's infrastructure. 

MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company announced that it will enhance its trade links between Costa Rica and the Northern Europe, by adding a new direct call from the Port of Moin. Thus, its MSC Katya R. container ship, that called the Moin Terminal, has become the largest to ever call at Moín Terminal, Costa Rica.

On 12 June 2019, AS Tallinna Sadam and PK Terminal OÜ signed a collaboration agreement and a right of superficies for the creation of a bulk and mixed cargo terminal in Muuga Harbor, which deals with the handling and storage of roundwood, pellets, crushed stone and metal products. 

The US Department of Transportation (DOT) announced a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to apply for $292.7 million in discretionary grant funding through the new Port Infrastructure Development Program. This new program aims to support public coastal ports by improving the safety, efficiency or reliability of goods movement, into, out of or within a port.

According to Port of Los Angeles' statement, it moved 828,662 Twenty-Foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) in May, the busiest May in the Port’s 112-year history. The volumes reflect growth of 7.8% in comparison to the same period last year.

A barge with a pair of 100-foot-high cargo cranes will dock at the Port of Everett next week, after conducting a 1,400-mile ocean journey from Los Angeles. By the end of the year, they cranes will become part of the Port’s working waterfront. The cranes will go into storage for a few months, as they will wait for the completion of a $37 million project to upgrade the South Terminal dock, this December.
