Individual Cooperation Agreements on Asia-Europe Trades

Cosco, K Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen Line join forces Cosco, "K" Line, Yang Ming, Hanjin and Evergreen have agreed to initiate individual cooperative arrangements on Asia-Europe trades starting from April 2012 as announced last December.This cooperation between the four CKYH Lines and Evergreen Line is designed to offer customers best sailing frequency, transit time and service coverage so as to fulfill customers' needs.These bilateral arrangements will be implemented in 8 weekly services for Asia - North Europe and 4 for Asia - Mediterranean including direct services for Asia - Adriatic regions calling Rijeka, Koper and Trieste.Especially, weekly services for Asia - North Europe, which in fact, offer the highest frequency in the market, will also provide very attractive transit times from Asia to major European ports including Rotterdam, Hamburg and Felixstowe (i.e. 26-27 days from Shanghai/Ningbo and 23-24 days from Yantian).The majority of the fleet operated in these total twelve loops will be ranging from 8,000TEU to 13,000TEU sizeSource: K Line

Evergreen, NYK and Hanjin Launch a Weekly India-China Service

India China Service - in response to the growing demand in this trade Evergreen Line, NYK Line and Hanjin Shipping have just commenced a new service linking East Asia and India, to be called "India China Service" or ICS. All three carriers said the new string is launched in response to the growing demand in this trade.ICS inaugurated service on October 29 from Pusan. The weekly loop then calls Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Pipavav, Colombo, Singapore, Hong Kong and Pusan.The joint service employs five ships of approximately 2,500 TEU - 2,800 TEU. Evergreen head awarded lifetime award by major UK media outlet

For his contributions to the container liner shipping and logistics industry Evergreen Group Chairman Chang Yung-fa was given a "Lifetime Accomplishment Award" this week at the 2011 Containerization International (CI) Awards for his contributions to the container liner shipping and logistics industry. Maurice Storey, honorary chairman of Evergreen Marine UK Ltd., accepted the award on behalf of Chang at a ceremony in London. Chang, who runs one of the world's biggest shipping companies, founded Evergreen Marine in 1968 to offer shipping, transportation and related services. He now chairs a multinational corporation that owns more than 180 container ships and 60 passenger planes.The award recognized Chang's outstanding contributions to the industry over his career through a series of educational, innovative, proactive and pioneering achievements, according to CI magazine, a top London-based transportation publication. Chang, who is now in his 80s, said in a statement that the recognition by his peers in the industry was a great honor. It was the second time that Chang had been recognized by a media outlet based in the U.K. focusing on the marine shipping industry.
