DSME presents smart solution for ship monitoring

Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) launched its Smart Ship Solution, which received approval in principle from Lloyd’s Register. The application is a fleet monitoring smart ECDIS and surveillance system. 

MAN, DSME, HSD Engine team up on engine digitization

South Korean shipbuilder Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME), ship engines provider HSD Engine (HSD) and German MAN Energy Solutions signed a strategic agreement to cooperate in the field of marine engine systems digitization.

DSME, partners enter smart ship technology project

South Korean DSME announced the signing of a MoU with NBP and Intel Korea, to jointly develop Smart Ship 4.0 Service Infrastructure. DSME will build a basic environment for the infrastructure of the Intelligent Smart Ship 4.0 Service on the Naver Cloud Platform of NBP and introduce Intel’s IoT solutions to the On-Ship IoT System.

DSME selects NAPA for ship design processes

Maritime software, services and data analysis provider NAPA, announced that DSME chose the 3D model-based NAPA Steel software to streamline design processes and be up to date with the 21st century naval architects and structure designers. DSME will use the software at both the initial design stages, and detailed design stages.

DSME Lays Keel for Petronas First Floating LNG Facility

The keel laying process for PETRONAS’ first floating liquefied natural gas facility (PFLNG 1) has commenced this week, marking another significant milestone in the construction of the facility at the Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) shipyard in Okpo, South Korea.
