DSME will partner with CB&I, a subsidiary of US-based energy engineering company McDermott, to develop a large liquid hydrogen carrier.
The two partners signed an MoU to develop a solution to build a large liquid hydrogen storage tank to a ship and establish a cooperative relationship in related fields.
As demand for marine transportation of liquid hydrogen is expected to increase, DSME aspires for the cooperation to contribute to the realization of large-sized liquid hydrogen carriers.
Recently, DSME also completed the verification process for carbon dioxide capture and storage technology onboard an in-service LNG carrier.
The system was installed on an LNG carrier to test the process of absorption, regeneration, and mineralization of carbon dioxide contained in the exhaust gases of the vessel
