The Liberia-flagged 'Calisto' was approaching Brunsbuettel for further Kiel Canal transit when it experienced rudder issues. These made the ship go off course and subsequently collide with the quay of the Elbe Port in Brunsbüttel. No one was injured due to the incident, according to the German water police. The ship was capable of sailing on its own power, while no oil spill has been reported either.

ATSB published its report on the contact with a wharf by the livestock carrier Angus Express. The vessel contacted Berths 4 and 5, at Broome, Western Australia, on 20 April 2018. The report concluded that the harbour master and pilot were not aware of any height of tide limitations regarding berthing ships alongside Yokohama fenders at these berths.

The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be using a team of investigators to Vancouver Harbour, British Columbia, after a collision between the M.V. Caravos Harmony and the M.V. Pan Acacia took place on March 17. TSB did not reveal any further information regarding the damages, injuries or pollution, but it said that it will gather information and assess the occurrence.

A Japanese fast ferry is said to have been collided with a whale on March 9, off the coast of Sado Island, Japan, resulting to passengers' injury. Japan Coast Guard and operator Sado Steam Ship believe that the object was a 'marine animal,' possibly a whale. 

The Taiwanese navy will seek compensation after a Saudi Arabian-flagged oil/chemical tanker 'NCC Sama' hit one of its frigates, in the harbor of Keelung in the morning hours of Saturday. The NCC Sama was entering port at 1:30 a.m. Saturday, when it hit the 'Ning Yang' frigate FF-938 in the middle of its port side.

The investigating officer on duty for the US Coast Guard Sector New Orleans responded to the report of a collision between two towing vessels on the Lower Mississippi River, on May 16, 2017. The investigation revealed that an endorsed master assigned to one of the vessels had impersonated another mariner during phone contacts with the sector command center and IO.

The Estonian Safety Investigation Bureau (ESIB) issued an investigation report on the blackout and losing control of the Ro-Ro ship 'Regal Star', in Swedish waters, near the Remmargrund lighthouse, on 30 October 2018. The investigation identified seawater ingress in the diesel fuel pipe system as key cause of the accident. 

A US Coast Guard buoy tender hit the dock, in New Orleans, on the Mississippi River, while carrying the Zulu King and Queen of Mardi Gras and other Zulu royalty for Mardi Gras festivities. The video, published by WWLTV, captures the time of the incident. 

Members of the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA), aboard the Coast Guard cutter 'Mantilla' fired upon a Chinese fishing vessel which was caught fishing illegally within the country's Exclusive Economic Zone, about 199 nautical miles from the San Jorge Gulf, and tried to collide with Mantilla.

The container ship Safmarine Nokwamda collided with the container ship Tianjin, while berthing at Busan Container Terminal, on March 2. Both ships sustained damages, while several container fell from Tianjin. Both ships have now departed Busan and are continuing their voyages. Safmarine Nokwanda is going to China, with Tianjin heading to the Americas.
