The 2D data will help define the full extent of existing and new plays in the region.
In addition, the 2D data will enable the acknowledgement of thickness variations the area has in the sediment overburden for source rock and maturity analysis.
The company’s process will increase the resolution and highlight the features of the turbidite systems that represent potential exploration targets.
Moreover, the low frequencies delivered, are to provide deep penetration to improve understanding of the nature of the deep crust.
Concluding, the company is partnering with Gabon in order to explore the latter’s deepwater Atlantic margin. Exploration teams can evaluate opportunities in this region in less time and with more confidence for faster and safer drilling.
