Sirius Shipping announced that it have placed an order of two plus two 15 000 dwt oil/chemical tankers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard, Yangzho.
According to the company, the tankers will have a length of 147 meters long, with a beam of 22 meters and draft 8.7 meters. It will feature 16,800 cbm plus 730 cbm deck tanks, a hybrid battery and a shore connection.
As explained, the first delivery will b eduring 2026. The vessels will be prepared for Methanol propulsion and is equipped with the latest technology and comply with the future regulations.
With Methanol as fuel onboard the vessel is able to comply beyond the European Green Deal package: FIT FOR 55 and its FuelEU Maritime initiative. With future supply of E-Methanol the vessel is able to reach zero Co2 and almost non-existent NOx emissions.
As informed, the new tanker has been designed by Kongsberg Maritime to provide the highest levels of sustainability, efficiency and safety as well as excellent working conditions.
