Following the COVID-19 outbreak and the impacts that has brought within the shipping industry, the European largest port, Port of Rotterdam started to slightly recover from the pandemic.
In light of the situation the port noted:
Port of Rotterdam is continuing to do well. Operationally, everything is under control and continuity is guaranteed in the terminals as well as in the business sector.
What is more, the port has further reduced the frequency of meetings for the COVID-19 port consultation committee to once a week from daily meetings.
Although the coronavirus situation remains stable, the port will keep monitoring the matter at hand and issue reports if there are any news on COVID-19 concerning the port business industry.
Overall, amid the unprecedented crisis, Port of Rotterdam Authority and Deltalinqs, the Association of Rotterdam Shipbrokers and Agents, encourage support to help organisations that care about the mental well-being of seafarers.
