The Port of Colombo includes the Jaya Container Terminal, the South Asia Gateway Terminal and the Colombo International Container Terminal. These three terminals have reached a deal to promote the Port, Ports Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe informed.
With this agreement, waiting time for all container vessels at the Port of Colombo will be reduced by permitting vessels to be accommodated at the available terminal.
Sri Lanka considers Port of Colombo’s growth as a significant achievement, as it reaches the top of a global maritime ranking for the first time, and comes in front of many other Asian ports.
