Pilbara Ports Authority recently published its monthly shipping statistics for December 2019, marking a delivery throughput of 64.6 million tonnes (Mt). That means a 2% increase in comparison with December’s throughput for the previous year..
For the moment, the total throughput for the 2019/20 financial year is 356.2Mt, meaning a slight growth of 2% compared to the same period last year.
Moreover, The Port of Port Hedland managed to achieve a monthly throughput of 47.9Mt, of which 47.3Mt came from its iron ore exports.
The above-mentioned iron ore shipment was by 3% increased from December 2018.
However a 22% decrease from the last year’s same month, was also seen in the imports through the Port of Port Hedland, as they counted up to 172.000 tonnes.
Concluding, Port of Dampier from its side, delivered a total throughput of 15.8Mt for December 2019, noting a 2% fall from December 2018. Its imports though marked a 6% increase as they totalled 87,000 tonnes.
