State-owned Oman LNG and BP Singapore reached to an agreement after signing a Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), regarding the supply of LNG to BP Singapore.
The SPA will start on January 2018, and will last for seven year, lifting a total of 1.1 million tonnes per year, which is equal to almost 18 LNG cargoes every year.
This agreement will promote the LNG market in Oman, which aims to be a source of clean energy, Dr. Mohammed al-Rumhy, Minister of Oil and Gas, Chairman of Oman LNG stated.
He also added that, the agreement between the two parties will benefit not only the LNG market, but Oman’s national economy as well.
The LNG plant will located at Qalhat, in Sur, and will have the capacity to receive and process additional volumes as it has recently been operating with some spare capacity, according to sources.
The event occurred in Muscat and was attended by high officials and senior executives from the Oil and Gas industry in Oman.
