Video, produced by Shell, concerns the building and operating of a specialised 6,500 cubic metre LNG bunker vessel capable of providing a cleaner burning marine fuel.
In particular, Shell explains that, under global energy demands, a range of different technologies and fuel options will be required to all marine transports this century and a cleaner burning solution to this is LNG. To serve these requirements, the vessel has the potential of fuelling 1,000 cubes of LNG per hour. With a specialised loading arm, it can provide safe bunkering to a wide range of ships, from small coastal to large transatlantic ships.
Shell notes that it will be the biggest seagoing LNG bunker vessel with high maneuverability and hopes that will open up a new market in the marine transport industry.
