The container shipping line, MSC recently informed that is extending its MSC Carbon Neutral Programme around the global, as it plans to enhance its entire strategy by the end of 2020.
In fact, the Mediterranean Shipping Company along with the climate solutions provider South Pole, have joined their forces for the program since early 2019.
In light of the above, Claudio Bozzo, Chief Operating Officer, MSC noted:
We have partnered with South Pole, a leading, certified third party to extend the MSC Carbon Neutral Programme and help bridge the gap between shipping today and the zero-carbon future we all aspire to.
Following the program’s successful implementation in several countries, both sides now plan to roll out the entire strategy by the end of 2020.
For the records, through the Carbon Neutral Programme, MSC reported that its customers can compensate for emissions from their shipments by supporting South Pole’s climate action projects.

Concluding, MSC was the first shipping line during 2019 that offered an option to fully compensate carbon emissions caused by the transport of their cargo through supporting climate protection projects managed by South Pole.
