MSC joined Freight Logistics Optimization Works (FLOW), the new initiative led by the US Department of Transportation to improve information-sharing between key stakeholders.
A new platform developed by Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) delivers for the first time information on cargo transported by individual vessels, the companies that own the cargo and the greenhouse gas emissions associated with global maritime trade.
We are pleased to join and support the FLOW initiative led by the US Department of Transportation as we strongly believe that a common and interoperable digital infrastructure throughout the container shipping industry is a critical step to make supply chains more efficient, secure and resilient
stated André Simha, Chief Digital & Information Officer at MSC, adding that this initiative will strengthen the foundation for the seamless, end-to-end exchange of information we all need to keep global trade moving today.
In addition, MSC is trying to building cross-industry partnerships taking advantage of digitalization opportunities. Examples of the company’s recent collaborations include the Future International Trade (FIT) alliance, TradeLens, Smart Maritime Network and the Digital Container Shipping Association (DCSA), of which MSC’s André Simha is Chairman.
I am pleased that MSC has joined FLOW initiative to improve the information-sharing between all the industry stakeholders – and help clear #supplychain bottlenecks. So far, 18 partners have joined – a very diverse taskforce representing many stakeholders! https://t.co/SOqtbpXSBZ
