MOL will retrofit 80 of its operated bulkcarriers with a new service called NAPA Fleet Intelligence with Noon Report (NAPA FI) developed by NAPA Ltd. NAPA FI uses information from the vessel’s logs and AIS, to analyze propulsion performance.
NAPA FI verifies the effects of measures to limit GHG emissions from MOL-operated vessels, such as more effective engine output control, timely measures for hull and propellers maintenance to avoid reduction of propulsion.
MOL expects NAPA FI to improve propulsion performance and reduce the environmental impact even for vessels on short-term charter contracts.
What is more, MOL is currently using ICT technology to reduce its environmental impact and improve services.
