With the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic situation bringing several disruptions and delays to the shipping industry, several ports in the US are struggling to remain operational. Among others, the Port of New York and New Jersey along with the South Carolina Ports keep continuing their operations.
Specifically, the South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) Authority President and CEO Jim Newsome said:
S.C. ports are operating normally & working with the entire maritime community to ensure supply chains remain functional. The Port provides an essential service, helping to move vital goods to people & businesses in the Southeast and beyond.
At the same time, Port of New York and New Jersey are both operational, as supply and chain partners along with longshore labor to truckers and warehouse and distribution center operators have joined their forces to maintain port’s regular working conditions.
All truck gates are fully operational during all regularly scheduled hours; with minor modifications for interacting with vessel crew and truckers. There has been no impact to our intermodal rail capabilities, and none are expected at this time. Our drayage truck partners are operating at full strength and not experiencing any driver shortages

Although, cruises operations and scheduled public events are suspended for the next 30 days, to avoid the spread of the disease.
Concluding, in the fight against the coronavirus, Port of Oakland, Port of Long Beach ,Port of Antwerp and Port of Long Beach try their best to stay unaffected and continue their cargo operations.
