Knutsen, a Norwegian shipping company, has recently received its latest LNG carrier vessel from Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries (HSHI).
The vessel, has a capacity of 174k m3 and is expected to contribute to Knutsen’s operations and further enhance their capabilities in the LNG sector. Paris Knutsen is the 7th vessel in the Shell-chartered series, 8th vessel delivered by HSHI, and 10th vessel of Knutsen within the last 15 months.
To remind, in an interesting move regarding LNG shipping, Knutsen, Lloyd’s Register, , Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering (KSOE), and Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) announced a study in June, as part of a Joint Development Project (JDP), to measure carbon emissions through the entire life cycle of a newbuild LNG Carrier.
The vessel is sister vessel of 8091-96 with the only exception being MAN ME-GA main engines and Hi-ALS Air Lubrication System.
