Junzheng Group has announced the addition of a new series of stainless steel vessels to its fleet renewal program at a domestic shipyard.
According to a regulatory filing, Junzheng Group’s shipping subsidiaries, SC International based in Dubai and JZ Logistics Holding in Hong Kong, have placed an order for up to 10 ships at Wuchang Shipbuilding.
The agreement with the CSSC-affiliated yard includes five confirmed orders and options for an additional five vessels, each with a capacity of 25,900 deadweight tons (dwt), amounting to approximately $451 million. Deliveries are scheduled between 2026 and 2028.
Junzheng Group gained prominence as China’s largest chemical tanker operator following its acquisition of Sinochem’s fleet in 2019. Its subsidiary, Shanghai Junzheng Shipping (SC Shipping), currently manages a fleet of about 80 chemical tankers ranging from 3,000 dwt to 40,000 dwt.
The fleet is poised to expand further with the recent booking of up to ten more 25,900 dwt stainless steel chemical carriers at China Merchants Jinling Shipyard in Yangzhou, in addition to two vessels currently under construction at the same yard.
In related developments within the chemical tanker sector, Wuchang Shipbuilding has secured a contract with another Chinese owner, Xingtong Shipping, for two 25,900 dwt stainless steel vessels designed to be methanol-ready, scheduled for delivery in the first half of 2026.
