Maersk has announced that Flying Tiger Copenhagen will be utilizing its ECO Delivery solution to transport its entire ocean freight volume from 2024 onwards.
With ECO Delivery, Maersk customers, including Flying Tiger Copenhagen, can manage ocean transports using certified green fuels like second-generation biofuel derived from waste feedstocks. By leveraging Maersk’s ECO Delivery solution, the company aims to eliminate emissions from maritime logistics and contribute to a sustainable future.
The partnership builds on their existing close relationship, with Maersk providing comprehensive supply chain management services for Flying Tiger Copenhagen, covering customs, inland transport, warehousing, and e-commerce fullfillment. Apart from Flying Tiger Copenhagen, Nestlé, Volvo, Inditex, Lenovo, and Amazon are some companies that have signed for the ECO Delivery solution.
We want to be the frontrunners in the green transition of the retail industry and do our part to pass on a better globe to future generations. We want to offer affordable products which are good for the environment and ultimately end dependency on virgin fossil materials and fuels.
… said Martin Jermiin, CEO of Flying Tiger Copenhagen
Maersk’s ECO Delivery Ocean transports will also be exempted from EU Emissions Trading System charges, and fixed prices for green fuels will be offered, with plans to extend ECO Delivery to airfreight and certain landside transports.
It’s great to see retail companies like Flying Tiger Copenhagen being among the pioneers and largest users of our ECO Delivery Ocean solution to reduce their greenhouse gas footprint from their logistics activities, and it’s an even greater pleasure to see such a close partner as Flying Tiger Copenhagen joining the growing group of Maersk customers transporting 100% of their ocean cargo with Maersk under ECO Delivery.
