SAFETY4SEA is pleased to announce that Dynagas Ltd has received the 2020 GREEN4SEA Technology Award, sponsored by Bureau Veritas, at a prestigious award ceremony which successfully concluded on March 3rd at Yacht Club of Greece in Athens, the evening ahead of the 2020 GREEN4SEA Athens Forum.
Dynagas Ltd received the award for featuring state of the art LNG carriers supporting a more sustainable industry. Notably, Dynagas made history in 2012, when the company’s LNG carrier OB RIVER became the world’s first LNG Carrier to transit and carry a cargo through the Northern Sea Route. Other short-listed nominees for this category were: Capital Ship Management Corp, MAN Energy Solutions, Nippon Paint Marine Coating and Norsepower OY
Presenting the award Mr George Andreadis, Marine Chief Executive, Bureau Veritas said “We are proud and honored to have work with Dynagas at the development of the state of the art Yamal LNG that explored the North Sea Route. Dynagas is a pioneer in the LNG sector. Further to conventional shipping, the company has specialized in subzero harsh weather conditions, steadily building up knowledge and experience in this field, by transporting cargo in areas with such a challenging environment.”

Dynagas Ltd attracted the most votes by the end of the voting period which held online during a two-month period. GREEN4SEA Awards are held annually within the scope of awarding industry’s outstanding practices for green shipping excellence, technology, initiative, clean shipping practices, green ports and personalities that are leading the path toward a more sustainable future. Other winners of the 2020 GREEN4SEA Awards are: Thome Ship Management Pte Ltd for the Dry Bulk Operator Award, GasLog LNG Services Ltd for the Tanker Operator Award, World LPG Association (WLPGA) for the Initiative Award, Lloyd’s Register FOBAS for the Clean Shipping Award, Dr. John Kokarakis, Bureau Veritas for the Personality Award and Mr. Andreas Chrysostomou, Tototheo Maritime for the Leadership Award.
