Although the passengers of the Westerdam disembarked in Cambodia, the US Embassy Cambodia reported that a female passenger was tested positive for the coronavirus in Malaysia.
Specifically, the US Embassy noted that the woman, an American national, was stopped at the Kuala Lumpur airport in Malaysia and found infected with COVID-19.
Today we learned that Malaysian health authorities confirmed a passenger from the #Westerdam tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in Kuala Lumpur on Feb 14.

In a separate statement, Holland America Line reported that one female guest remains in a hospital in Malaysia with a reported positive result for COVID-19 according to Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, remaining in stable condition. On the other hand, her travelling companion tested negative for COVID-19.
Holland America Line’s Westerdam cruise ship was repeatedly denied entrance in several ports after allegations that passengers have been infected by Coronavirus, which has resulted to the vessel for Sihanoukville, Cambodia. On February 14, Holland America Line’s cruise ship Westerdam finally disembarked its passengers in Cambodia’s coastal city Sihanoukville following the company’s updates that the 20 samples taken from passengers onboard the vessel were confirmed as negative.
