Romania’s Prime Minister, Marcel Ciolacu, stated in the cabinet meeting held in 23 October that the government aims to transform the port of Constanta into a logistic hub at the Black Sea.
The port has been undergoing changes to consolidate its position as an efficient, sustainable and safe seaport, with an essential role in the economic development of the country. Moreover, the Prime Minister announced financing of over 750 million lei rehabilitation works to ensure a second rail access to the port of Constanta.

Furthermore, the project “Modernization of power supply system in Constanta Port” that has already been implemented, is on its second phase until 2027 according to the National Company Maritime Ports Administration.
The investment is in line with the European Commission’s strategy for green ports and increasing the technical and economic efficiency of electricity use.
