French container ship giant CMA CGM informed that it will implement an Emergency Port Congestion Surcharge (PCS) for imports and exports at the port of Thessaloniki, North Greece, as of January.
As explained, the increased port congestion in Thessaloniki is respectively increasing the company’s operational costs and generating service disruptions.
As a result, CMA CGM will set the following Emergency Port Congestion Surcharge:
- Effective January 8th, 2018 (B/L date) for all trades except US
- Effective February 1st, 2018 (B/L date) for US trades subject to filing, and this until further notice:
- All imports from / Exports to Thessaloniki
- PCS Quantum: USD 80 per 20′ and USD 160 per 40′
- All cargo including dry, reefer, OOG and breakbulk
- Prepaid surcharge, in addition to ocean freight.
