A Dutch cargo ship ran aground off of the Odense Fjord, at the north end of the island of Funen, and efforts are underway to refloat it.
In the early hours of 9 December the freighter Amadeus Gold was en route from Rotterdam to Odense when it ran aground near the main terminal, north of the port. The route is narrow and the waters on either side are shallow, according to local outlet Maritime Danmark.
To assist, three vessels were deployed, the tugs Svitzer Idun and Tybring, along with the pollution control ship Marie Miljo.
As of the latest update, the Amadeus Gold remains in the same position in the fjord.
