On 13th May, the bulk carrier “SEA HOPE” suffered an engine failure in Marmara sea south of Sivri Ada island, south of Istanbul.

ccording to local media sources, the vessel suffered engine failure, probably while maneuvering to anchor at anchorage.

Following the situation, Sea Hope was taken on tow and towed to Ahirkapi anchorage, as of May 13 it remained in the same position. For the record, the bulk carrier is en route from Toros, Turkey, to Samsun, Turkey, Black sea.
Overal, speaking of engine failure, the previous month, the general cargo ship River Elber experienced an engine failure while transiting Bosphorus.
