The Greek-flagged oil tanker Aegean Horizon was released by Nigerian authorities on Thursday after being held since November 13 as part of a probe into the suspected theft of thousands of tons of crude oil during a naval exercise in the region.
The vessel was released on the intervention of Greek President Karolos Papoulias and the Foreign Ministry in Athens, and was en route to Rotterdam, its original destination.
