Access concerning Chinese ports and shipyards: Update

The Korean Register issued a statement informing of the current situation in all Chinese ports and shipyards amid the coronavirus outbreak; The majority of the ports listed below prohibit any access, while some can be visited by acquiring permission from a local authority.

Shanghai Branch Office

All Shipyard (Newbuilding Ship) + Shipyard (Docking Shipyard) Work: Progress will be delayed due to lack of workers.

Port or Anchorage: As a result of a consultation with the Shanghai Port Authority, even China’s PSCOs are unable to perform their duties normally at ports. Only an emergency case(permission by local authority) can be permitted.

Ningbo Branch Office

Zhoushan Longshan Shipyard  / Zhoushan Xinya Shipyard / Zhoushan COSCO Shipyard

  • Zhoushan Liuheng Area, Three Shipyards; – Ferry Terminal is closed from Ningbo to Liuheng islands.
  • Ningbo to Liuheng via Zhoushan Main island Ferry teminal is officially closed, but Only opened for Zhoushan citizen. (* Foreigner and other citizen can not access directly but foreigner can access with invitation letter issued by shipyard.
  • Hotel cannot be reserved.
  • Public Transportation (Intercity Bus), not operated.
  • All restaurants are closed.
  • Government’s official opinion: If the staff catch a Coronavirus, the head of the company concerned will be responsible.

Zhoushan Chang Hong Shipyard

  • Hotel cannot be reserved.
  • Access is not permitted.
  • Government’s official opinion: If the staff catch a Coronavirus, the head of the company concerned will be responsible

Zhoushan Paxocean Shipyard

  • Hotel cannot be reserved.
  • Public Transportation(Bus) from city to city, not operated.
  • Foreigner and other citizen cannot access directly, but foreigner can access with invitation letter issued by shipyard.

Zhoushan Haofeng Shipyard

Zhoushan Jinhai Shipyard

Hotel can not be reserved.

Public Transportation(Intercity Bus), not operated.

Foreigner and other citizen cannot access directly. But Shipowner shall be discuss with shipyard and China government

Zhoushan IMC-YY Shipyard / Zhoushan YangFan Shipyard / ZhongTian heavy industry Shipyard / Zhoushan Longsheng Shipyard / Zhoushan Hongzhou Shipyard

Zhoushan YiuLian Shipyard

  • Hotel cannot be reserved.
  • Public Transportation (Bus) from city to city not operating
  • Foreigner and another citizen cannot access directly.

Fujian HuaDong Shipyard

  • All hotels in Fujian area cannot be reserved.
  • Foreigner and other citizen can access directly.
  • For more detail, needs to contact the Local agent.

Ningbo area Port / FuTian Port

  • Crew change: not permitted
  • Class survey: not sure until now, but it can be handled case by case.
  • For more detail, contact with the Local agent.
  • Government’s official opinion: If the staff catch a Coronavirus, the head of the company concerned will be responsible.

ShuLangHu Port

  • Crew change: not permitted
  • Class Survey: not sure because transportation, hotel and ferry boat cannot be reserved.
  • For more detail, contact with the local agent.

Nanjing Branch Office

DAYANG OFFSHORE EQUIPMENT CO., LTD / JIANGSU ZHENJIANG SHIPYARD (GROUP) CO., LTD.

At the request of Chinese Government, all jobs were stopped


Nanjing

The condition of health will be checked before being onboard.


Lianyungang

Access is not permitted.

Survey is not permitted, but unavoidable survey shall acquire the permission through agency

(LPG port still very busy, no denial until now)


Changzhou

  • Access is not permitted.
  • Port is closed. (Confirmed thru. Agent on 3rd February, 2020)

Yangzhou

  • Access is not permitted.
  • Onboard survey is not recommended by the Government except for emergency situation and Health Certificate to be supplied.

Zhenjiang

  • Access is not permitted.
  • In principle Zhenjiang Port is not permitted the survey works on board.

Taizhou

  • Access is not permitted.
  • Only agent & quarantine officer can be onboard. (Confirmed via local agent on 4th February 2020)

Qingdao Branch Office

Beihai Shipyard/Qingdao O CUD Shipyard/Shidao O Huadong Shipyard/Shidao

The instruction from Government can be changed without prior notice.

At the area all terminals do not allow the foreign people (new crew, surveyor etc.) to be onboard. If it is so urgent, surveyor might be onboard through local agent.
