After several attempts by Greece that lasted months, China accepted the return of 7 seafarers from “Angelic Power”, who had been onboard the ship for more than 9 months.
Namely, the ship remains in Guishan, China, due to financial differences between the shipowner and the charterer.
What is more, the company that manages the ship has received a fine of over 500.000 euros.
Moreover, Greek authorities have provided all the necessary help to the seafarers, in tandem with the Chinese authorities, while the families of the crew claim that they have not been paid for two months, while they lack necessary fuel.
Now, attempts continue to repatriate the rest of the crew. Initially, the ship had 22 crew onboard.
Commenting on the development, the Greek Minister of Shipping, Giannis Plakiotakis, hopes that soon good news will wait for the rest of the crew, for whom Greece continues its attempts for their repatriation.
