The ECO MAESTRO, the first dual-fuel methanol ship ever built by New Dayang Shipbuilding Company for X-Press Feeders, was launched at the shipyard last Thursday.
According to the company, The ECO MAESTRO is powered by dual-fuel engines that can switch between conventional fuel and green methanol. Before the vessel sets sail on its first trip around Europe in Q2 2024, ECO MAESTRO will undergo thorough mechanical testing in the upcoming months.
This launch isn’t just about making waves – it’s about treading them responsibly. The ECO MAESTRO represents an exciting new frontier in our continued commitment to ensuring efficient, reliable shipments while protecting our environment.

X-Press Feeders definitely sees methanol as a promising alternative fuel that will aid the company’s decarbonization plans. To remind, OCI Global and X-Press Feeders recently announced that OCI Hyfuels will supply X-Press Feeders with green methanol in the Port of Rotterdam from 2024.
Furthermore, in early June, Eastaway, a member of the X-Press Feeders Group, ordered six 1,250 TEU container vessels, fitted with dual-fuel engines capable of operating on conventional fuel and methanol.
