The aerial footage, issued by PalmosEv, depicts the Turkish general cargo ship ‘Arslanbey’ which ran hard aground on a Greek beach on the island of Evia, near the Greek capital, on Wednesday.
The Panamanian-flagged ‘Arslanbey’ was en route from Amaliapolis to Istanbul, Turkey, carrying 14 crew members and no cargo onboard, when it went ashore on Kanatadika beach. There was no injury or marine pollution as a result from the incident.
With assistance by two tugs, the ship has now been detached from land and remains anchored at sea.
An investigation is underway to determine the exact causes of the grounding. The ship is inspected for seaworthiness and can not leave before the necessary certificates by class are issued.
