A cable laying ship, called Responder, sank on September 12, off South Korea, after catching fire. No casualties or injuries are reported.
After the fire broke out, a firefighting campaign started which lasted more than 12 hours.
Eventually, local media report, the ship sank because of a flooding cause by the fire fighting on the deck of the cable layer.
At the time of the incident, there were 60 crew onboard, all of whoch were safely evacuated to a nearby smaller cable laying ship.
The fire was extinguished by Korean SAR and coast guard ships.
