A Chinese general cargo vessel, ‘YUSHENG 366’, sank in the waters south of Hong Kong after a collision with a CMA CGM containership in the early hours of Monday, December 24. The crew abandoned the ship, immediately, and they were, all, safely rescued.
At about 4 am on December 24, the 9145 TEUs large container ship named ‘CMA CGM Norma’ and a Chinese flagged vessel, ‘YUSHENG366’, collided in the Pearl River Delta, China.
The Chinese Maritime and Safety Administration has confirmed that the general cargo vessel had sunk and all seafarers of the Yusheng 366 have been rescued after the accident.

In addition, the Chinese Maritime and Safety Administration informs that, for now, there are not any reports of pollution in the area.
Zhuhai’s vessel traffic service center also released relevant reports in order to inform near vessels to pay attention to the sinking vessel and try to avoid it.
According to local reports, the ‘CMA CGM Norma’ route was diverted to the anchorage for inspection. Therefore, the schedule may be delayed.
