A US-based exploration company will resume the search for the missing plane of Malaysia Airlines’ flight MH370 in the Indian Ocean, after receiving the ‘go-ahead’ by the Malaysian government, Reuters reported.
The airplane was en route from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing, when it disappeared together with the 239 people onboard, in March 2014. Since then, forces from Australia, China and Malaysia have been searching for the aircraft, without results, and with the investigation ceasing unsuccessful in January 2017. The incident thus remains one of the world’s most significant aviation mysteries.
According to Reuters, the Malaysian government reportedly accepted an offer by the American company ‘Ocean Infinity’, to resume the search, noting that they will get paid only if they find the plane.
The company is said to have already moved the vessel ‘Seabed Constructor’ to the possible search zone.
Several aircraft pieces have been collected so far from the Indian Ocean, at least three of which are confirmed to relate with the missing plane.
