The Trump Administration imposed broad sanctions targeting Iran, as it blacklisted a foundation controlled by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
In fact, the Treasury described the Islamic Revolution Mostazafan Foundation as “an immense conglomerate” with 160 holdings in key sectors of Iran’s economy covering finance, energy, construction and mining.
Among others, the department imposed sanctions on the foundation’s subsidiaries: Parsian Tourism and Recreational Centers Company which runs Sina Port and Marine Services Development Company, Bonyad Shipping Agencies Company, Bonyad Eastern Railway Company, and Sina Pars Rail Company.
In light of the above, anyone who engages in certain transactions with these individuals and entities runs the risk of being hit with U.S. sanctions.
Overall, US recently added seven individuals and 10 entities to the Specially Designated Nationals and Blocked Persons List, pursuant to Syria sanctions authorities.
