Two ballast tankers ran aground in the Suez Canal on 6 April. Both ships have now been refloated.
According to information, a 107,505 DWT oil tanker ship ran aground at 132.5 km of the Suez Canal.
The vessel was in northbound convoy which was made up of 22 vessels. The 15 vessels in front of the grounded ship were not affected, but the remaining six were detained.
What is more, the 105,000 DWT tanker behind the ship also ran aground, at 130 km in the Canal.
As the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) said, tugs were deployed immediately.
Now, both tankers have been refloated and are continuing their Canal transit, along with all other vessels, without any further disruption.
The Canal is reported as totally clear.
